It's not everyday that you hear about a death metal band from
Jordan, but don't let this fool you as Tyrant Throne plays
tight and competent death metal. The band seem to find inspiration
in combos like Cannibal Corpse, Decapitated and
Vader. Musically Tyrant Throne doesn't offer anything
new, but they play with a nerve and energy that to a large degree
make up for the other lacks. The songs are diverse without being
really captivating, but Tyrant Throne is able to create some
interesting things from time to time.
It doesn't hurt either that the band finish of with their rendition
of the Cannibal Corpse song "Staring Through the Eyes of the
Dead". The Jordanians have used a drum-machine on this recording.
It's noticeable, but overall they've succeeded in not making it too
obvious. The production could have been a little thicker and more
compact, but as a whole it's not bad. Abominations is a good
EP that show a band with potential.
