Interview by:

July 21st, 2007
Hello, it's for us
great to have a band from Jordan in our next issue. So before we
begin can you give us a small history of Tyrant Throne?
Hello. Tyrant Throne officially started in 2004 by my cousin Zaher
Siryani on guitars and me Phexataan on bass and vocals. We had no
drummer until May 2007, because it is very hard to find drummers in
Jordan who can reach the technicality that we seek, but after 3
years of striving our old friend Hanna Marzouqa proved to be able to
handle the job and he is now our permanent drummer. Although the
band started officially in 2004, but as I mentioned before Zaher and
I are cousins, so we used to jam together since childhood and we
played a lot of gigs together in different bands.
So the line-up
still exists of two members or are you guys looking for some people
to join the band?
No, as I mentioned in the previous question; we have now a 3rd
member (Hanna Marzouqa) who is now Tyrant Throne's permanent
drummer, so the line-up now is Phexataan (Muhannad Bursheh) on
bass/vocals, Zaher Siryani on guitars and Hanna Marzouqa on drums.
We're happy to have a very solid line-up now. Currently we're not
looking for a second guitarist, maybe in the future…
Your music style has a
lot of different sounds, it goes from death to black, thrash, heavy
and industrial metal, so let's talk about and by which bands are you
most influenced.
Well actually there aren't any Industrial, Black or Heavy Metal
influences in our music at all. The band's style is basically a mix
between brutal, technical and straight forward death metal with some
Thrash touches here and there. Coming to our influences, every
member has his own influences of course, but to sum it up, we are
all Extreme Metal freaks, Death Metal, Black Metal and Thrash Metal,
but speaking of Tyrant Throne's music, Death and Thrash Metal are
the influences.
Begin 2007 a EP see
the light under the name (Abominations), explain and we hear also
that you recorded this stuff on your own studio?
Yeah, the EP "Abominations" was released in January 2007. It is an
aggressive, angry, rebellious, spiritual and hateful release
musically and lyrically. The tracks are filled with inner and
spiritual wrath. The riffing and sound varies from Brutal to
technical and straight forward Death Metal with Thrash touches as I
mentioned above. It is a killer debut, we love it. About the
recording, it was done at our friend's studio (Sirenwave Studio),
but the mixing and overall production was done at my personal studio
(The Phexagon Studio).
What about labels
interest? And have you send many promo's around to zines, people,
labels, etc... worldwide? Reactions?
We are receiving a lot of label offers, but still we are studying
them all and putting our plans to contact the labels that we are
interested in as Tyrant Throne. About sending promos, we have sent
worldwide according to our financial state, we send a few promos
whenever our financial state enables us to. The reactions and
feedback are amazing so far; we are being featured on various radio
shows and magazines, and we have received killer reviews for
"Abominations" and we're proud of that!
You have also do
the management of the band and have also your own webzine! You are a
very busy men, tell more.
I guess this question is for our Ex-manager Mr. Mohammad Yousef, who
was the manager of Tyrant Throne and also used to work at Jordan's
top Metal webzine (JorZine.com), so to give respect; I can't answer
this question in his place.
Let's talk about
the underground scene on your country! (labels, zines, bands,.....)
The scene here is growing little by little; Metal is still new in
our country you know, it started in early/mid 90's. We have a lot of
talented and good bands who are working pretty hard to achieve
something, all we need is support. We have some problems with the
authorities sometimes, Metal is considered as the "Devil's Music" as
you know in many regions, but am sure that if we get the proper
support, sponsorship and attention we'll have a shining scene that
could be pointed on the Metal world map… Coming to labels; we have
two Metal distribution labels; "Jordan River Entertainment" and
"Sick and Raw Records". About webzines, there are several webzines
and small Metal websites, but the main ones are "JorZine.com",
"Doomish.com"
and "JordanBands.com".
JorZine is doing an extra excellent job.
Any new tracks into
work, who written them and what are they about? Are there any plans
for a full CD in near future?
We haven't begun composing new material yet; we were very busy with
live gigs and promotion for Abominations. Now we're done with gigs
for this period, the plan is to begin working on the material for
our next release which will be probably a full-length album.
Has Tyrant Throne
already played live yet? Or are there plans for it?
Yes, indeed we have played many live shows. We have just returned
from Metal Fest 2007 in Cairo-Egypt!!
What about merchandise
and how can we order it and can you give us some last words for
ending this all.
For Merchandise, we are working on an online shop for the band, but
until its done, people can order our EP "Abominations", and
Abomination's T-shirt by sending us and e-mail on (contact@tyrantthrone.com).
